Wine Made With Intention, Not Pretension.

Lucky Rock can ship across the US.

Lucky Rock: Spanning the Nation

If you were one of the more eagle-eyed among us you may have noticed in our last email our "Important Fine Print" whereby we announced that we could take orders for wine via telephone in about 30 more states than just our usual 8. We just keep getting more sophisticated every day, and now you can actually buy our wine in those states over that newfangled technology called our website. Damn, we remember the days we actually mailed you a piece of paper called a "newsletter" for you to place an order.

That's right - Lucky Rock is available for sale direct from our garage to: AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY, and Washington DC. Head over to our website and try it out.

Dads Two Ways

Aaron:
Aaron, Ellis, and Goats"Easter weekend my family and I visited a local goat farm. We played with baby goats, toured the farm, and had a lovely picnic (yup, with Lucky Rock Pinot Noir). It was the stereotypical hipster Bay Area family weekend outing. We purchased over-priced cheese, pondered a simpler life, and went home due to nap-time commitments."

Jesse:

"In true NorCal fashion, last weekend a group of friends (including yours truly and son) went up to Williams, shot guns, roasted a lamb over open fire, killed and ate two rattlesnakes, and drank more than we should have (after shooting guns). Romance was had, making for fires inside tents and out. Luckily, I had some Lucky Rock Sauvignon Blanc to cool me down."

But hey!… It’s a new year. It is time to try new things, reinvent yourself, and get that gym membership that you will use a few times in January and abandon come February. But, more importantly, we think it’s time to step out of your comfort zone and try some unique California wines from winemakers who are subverting the norm and challenging the status quo of what wine is.

You're in the wine isle, looking for an good wine to buy. A wine with a cool label catches your eye, you read it’s made with a suitable grape variety and learn it only costs $17 - perfect for your budget! Directly to the right of that bottle, you notice another neat wine label. Take a closer look...it’s $100! “Wow,” you think, ”that is pricey.” Yep, $100 wine exists and people are willing to pay for it. Does the $100 price tag mean that the wine is objectively almost six times better than the less expensive $17 wine? Or is it just marketing mumbo-jumbo and the wines are equally tasty?

This blog will give you insider info...the secret on what separates a cheap wine and an expensive wine. We’ll help you decide how to determine the best option for your taste buds AND your bank account.
