VinoshipperThis is our, yearly, limited-release wine. One-of-a-kind; never to be produced from the same vineyard or in the same way again. At the core, this series is about the thrill of prospecting and hitting paydirt, while keeping the joys of winemaking alive.
In 2020 we managed to secure some incredible fruit from the Venturi Vineyard, located in Capella-Redwood Valley, Mendocino County. The Venturis, Larry and Doreen, are third-generation farmers and Italian immigrants whose families have been established in the agricultural trade since 1916.
In the vineyard, Jeff prefers the old school methods of his ancestors. His vines are dry-farmed, organic, and some are 50-100+ years old.
Harvested 9.25.2020. 72 cases bottled, unfined & unfiltered.
87% Grenache, 9% Petite Sirah, 4% Zinfandel
pH 3.63 | TA 5.9 | Alc. 13.8%
Baked Strawberry, hints of berry and plum.
Notes of crushed herbs, flint, Vanilla + baked clay.
The tannin is firm and coating while the acid is medium in level.
